Infrastructure of the Complex
Located in Osong, the center of South Korea's national territory, it is the only region that includes medicine and bio in the mega-economic region leading projects in order to fulfill its role as a global biomedical R&D hub.
New Drug Development Support Center, Advanced Medical Device Development Support Center, Animal Testing Center, Biopharmaceutical Production Center, and Advanced Clinical Trial Center are established to conduct research and support activities in the field of medical bio.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Korea Food and Drug Administration, Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Korea National Institutes of Health, Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health & Welfare, and Korea Health Industry Development Institute have moved to Osong Advanced Medical Complex and in operation, performing the functions of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, licensing/approval, disease research, and policy development.
As South Korea's only national life science complex created by the nation, domestic and overseas companies such as LG Life Sciences Co., Ltd. and CJ CheilJedang Co., Ltd. have moved in to create a linking effect utilizing the accumulated infrastructure. In addition, we have expanded nearby comprehensive living spaces, including production facilities, residential spaces, and cultural facilities.
The Ochang Science Industrial Complex is located 10km away, which enables the linking activities utilizing the infrastructure of the main centers of the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology and the main research facilities of the Korea Basic Science Institute. It is also possible to link with excellent pharmaceutical and bio companies such as Yuhan Corporation, Cross Corporation, and Biotoxtech Co., Ltd.
